In my effort to be a better blogger, I give you the AFTER pictures of our guest bath and master bath! Let's review, shall we?
Our guest bathroom started with shiny green tile that was probably original to the house, and an ivy stencil on the wall.
We hit a snag at the beginning of this project when the construction crew discovered a rotten subfloor after pulling up the tile. Not to be discouraged, we pressed on!
Now, here is the finished bathroom with new tile, paint, and fixtures!
The master bath started out with only a pedestal sink, a toilet, and the shower.
Counter space is an absolute MUST for me, so we replaced the pedestal sink with a small vanity and pushed out the opposite wall to make room for a larger second vanity.
Much better! I did have to sacrifice a little closet space with this, but we still have plenty of room in the closet, so that wasn't a big deal to me. We also added some built-in shelves that I totally love. The extra storage space is great especially with still-limited countertop space.
Progress, right?! We are finding new things everyday that we want to do, but I'm glad we've got these projects behind us!
Well, at least that's what I've been told, and it's time for me to DO BETTER.
Life happens. We get so busy with work, family, friends, this, and that. It's hard to keep up. It's not an excuse. It just...happens. Well, I have been guilty for a long time of just letting things go. The list of responsibilities and commitments that I've neglected is a mile long, and it makes me sad. My actions have not reflected my priorities. Why didn't I return that call/email sooner? Why didn't I schedule this meeting before now? Why did I eat that last piece of pizza? Why didn't I just suck it up and go for a run instead of laying on the couch watching Yard Crashers (seriously, is that the most addictive show ever, or is it just me?)?
I'm willing to bet that most anyone who is reading this blog (myself included since I might be the only one) is blessed with a healthy body and reasonable means to manage what the universe throws at us. So WHY don't we just decide to DO BETTER? Take it one step further? Go just a little bit higher?
Whatever it is...eating better, exercising more, saving more, listening more, talking less, complaining less...we just have to decide to do it, right?! So what's stopping us? The truth is we are stopping ourselves, but WHY? This is what I've been thinking about. God made ONE me and ONE you. We owe it to Him, ourselves, and each other to manage the business of living as best as we possibly can. Can you say that you've been living your best possible life? I sure can't. It is soooo easy to get overwhelmed with doubt, fear, and negative energy, but there's no time like the present. Start here and now!
I've never made a public (is it public if no one else is reading this?) declaration that I'm committing to living a better life. And I'm not just talking about healthy this and healthy that either, though that is a big part of it (more on that in the next post). I want to be a better Christian, friend, girlfriend, daughter, sister, aunt, professional, blogger, etc. ALL of the things I am, I'm committed to being better at them!
I'M GOING HIGHER (hidden meaning/motivation for the BH's)! Come with me!
I'm big on encouragement. I need a lot of it, and I can give as good as I get. What is one goal that you have for YOURSELF right now? Be specific! It can be anything. Just start small. OK. I'll go first...
I will write at least one blog post per week (YIKES!), and hopefully it will be worth reading!
One of my goals is to get "Amy's Just Saying" back on track (see?? Going Higher: a holistic approach) and to use my little piece of cyber real estate to make this an iron clad commitment to living a better life. I'm counting on you to hold me to this.
